Join The Reading League NJ chapter along with fellow chapters for a 3-week Book Study with the newly launched Student Focused Coaching book written by Dr. Jan Hasbrouck. Beginning April 5th and continuing on the 12th and 19th of April, each session will focus on a section of the book. Dr. Hasbrouck will present with Q & A moderated each week by a different state chapter. One of the most significant challenges for teachers and parents is equipping their struggling readers with grade-level reading in order to build content knowledge, vocabulary, and not fall further behind their peers despite decoding difficulties. Join us as Dr. Terrie Noland dismantles common misconceptions about pressing the “play button.” Parents can learn how to use the summer break to help their children close the reading gap and boost motivation, too! Following Dr. Noland's presentation, NJ TRL board members will present some additional resources for parents to use this summer to address writing and math skills.
