Decoding Dyslexia NJ and The Reading League NJ are teaming up in October

Decoding Dyslexia NJ has invited NJ Reading League's President Susan Miller to present on October 19th at 7 pm  - Is My Child's Reading Program Aligned with the Science of Reading? Coming right before parent conference season, Susan Miller will share with participants what to look for in the General Education and the Intervention/Basic Skills classrooms that indicate the application of the Science of Reading. Exploring the NJ Dyslexia Handbook

Please join Decoding Dyslexia NJ and The Reading League NJ chapter on January 11, 2022 at 7 pm to learn about how the Dyslexia Handbook informs reading instruction and assessment for ALL learners, not just those suspected of Dyslexia. Alison Pankowski and Deborah Lynam, two co-authors of the Handbook, will lead the workshop with time built in to answer questions from attendees. April Book Club – Student Focused Coaching with Dr. Jan Hasbrouck

Join The Reading League NJ chapter along with fellow chapters for a 3-week Book Study with the newly launched Student Focused Coaching book written by Dr. Jan Hasbrouck. Beginning April 5th and continuing on the 12th and 19th of April, each session will focus on a section of the book. Dr. Hasbrouck will present with Q & A moderated each week by a different state chapter. The Power of Pushing Play – Students Learning at Grade Level

One of the most significant challenges for teachers and parents is equipping their struggling readers with grade-level reading in order to build content knowledge, vocabulary, and not fall further behind their peers despite decoding difficulties. Join us as Dr. Terrie Noland dismantles common misconceptions about pressing the “play button.” Parents can learn how to use the summer break to help their children close the reading gap and boost motivation, too! Following Dr. Noland's presentation, NJ TRL board members will present some additional resources for parents to use this summer to address writing and math skills.
